How the HP Envy23 is Taking Me Away from my MacBook

Submitted by on August 23, 2013 – 3:42 amNo Comment

Ever since HP gave me this Envy 23 TouchSmart computer, I’m finding myself working on it almost as much as I work on my Mac—maybe more.  Everything from research and taking notes to editing photos is so much easier with the software and a touchscreen. I find myself swiping through screens, zooming from one window to the next, then instantly saving my documents and photos to my online Skydrive so I can retrieve them on my Mac and iPad.

When researching and writing a story, it is easy to grab notes from online and have them handy as I’m writing.  The first video shows how to grab a screen clipping and put it into a note that can be docked for reference as I write.  Windows 8 allows screen sharing of two programs at the same time.

The other task I do every day on my Mac is to organize and edit photos.  The touchscreen makes editing photos so much easier as you can “draw” right onto the photo to make specific adjustments and changes by painting areas to lighten, darken, sharpen, or erase unwanted items.  Check out how I edit in Lightroom on the Touchscreen. If you want to use Lightroom or Photoshop on a Windows 8 computer, be sure to download the touchscreen plug-in.

The only problem with the touchscreen HP Envy 23-d150 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC is that it’s addictive. It is so easy to navigate that I get used to it.  Every time I go back to using my Mac I find myself touching the screen and wishing I didn’t have to go back to my “magic” mouse.  Note: Although this is a sponsored blog, the thoughts and actions are honest and completely my opinion.
