The big news today may be the  iPad 2 with its  cool new cover.  You still won’t want to just throw it into your laptop bag or a big purse. After all, the iPad2 is thinner and smaller, why have a huge bag to carry it?  Then again, you don’t want to throw it in a purse with your keys and your makeup.  The iPad carrier options have been manly, often backpacks.  I’ve never found a backpack to be convenient nor complimentary to a designer tailored suit.

The A-line iPad purse , from Speck products is the perfect solution to carrying your iPad  so you can always have your iPad with you.  It can fit a netbook instead, if you have one. And here’s the best part … Speck’s designers are so good that this fashionable bag elicits compliments everywhere I go.

No kidding, women don’t know it is an iPad carrier, and I still hear “That’s such a cute purse!” at least once a day from bank tellers, grocery cashiers, and waitresses. And, at $59.99, it’s a great price for a purse!

Speck makes cool cases for everything from Macbooks to iPhones and iPads.  Their products are stylish and well-built and the A-line purse is no exception.  It comes in 3 colors  grey/purple, brown/red, and black/grey. It is called the A line for its A-shape that can stand up on a flat bottom.  It’s made of wool felt and sports a big rounded button to close a flap on the front of the purse.  The shoulder strap is lined with the contrasting color.

This purse may be cute, but it is in the way it accommodates your iPad and gadgets that the bag excels.  There is a fleece-lined pocket for your iPad to slide right in. The other main section of the zippered purse has adequate room for a wallet, makeup bag, and other items that would otherwise scratch an iPad.  There is a full-sized pocket on the back of the purse for items you want to be able to retrieve quickly.

When you unbutton the front flap, there is a pocket for an iPod, iPhone or other smart phone (Who am I kidding?  If you are an iPad person aren’t you an iPhone user?) with a gap for headphones to be connected while the device is zippered snugly into the soft pocket. The outer purse flap serves to further protect the iPhone from bumps. On the inside of the flap is a fat pocket that fits other accessories or supplies.

The purse is comfortable to carry and while I am ready for anything because I can always have my iPad with me, as I said, it’s cute enough that to always carry it whether you bring your iPad or not.
