Apple and AT&T have released the details of how to get your free (or refund for already purchased) ”bumper”  that will eliminate the calls dropped by holding the phone along the antenna edge. See my blog for details of the problem. and  See blog about Apple’s “Antennagate” press conference.

If you previously purchased a bumper with your iPhone 4 through Apple (online or at an Apple store):

If you used a credit card…You will get an email from Apple that states:

“Apple recently announced that iPhone 4 customers who purchased an iPhone 4 Bumper are eligible for a full refund.

As of today, we have automatically processed your refund.”

Check the status of your refund here.

If you used a credit card or cash…return to the store where you purchased your iPhone 4 and bumper.  Don’t forget your receipt! And be sure to go in before September 30, 2010.

If you bought a bumper through AT&T or at an AT&T form:

Go to the following link, download and print the form, and follow the directions.

Download the AT&T rebate form.

If you bought an iPhone 4 and DID NOT buy a bumper–you can get one now:

Apple has come up with a cool way that you can order your bumper for your iPhone 4.  There’s an app for that!

(If you don’t want a bumper, you may choose from third-party cases available from Apple.)
